Family Vacation to KC

We finally got to go on our family vacation! It seemed like we had all the time in the world and I had it all planned out by the end of June and then one thing after another and one trip after another (for Joe) the summer was almost over. So, we headed to Kansas City for 4 days and it was fun and relaxing (we didn't try to plan to much :).
We went to Union Station and Science City:

Here are some pictures from Science City:

Also got to go to a couple of the art museums, if you ever get a chance to go to Kansas City you have to make a trip to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art of a true immersion in classical art. And they had audio tour where you wear a headset and some of the pieces had numbers on them and you could punch in the number and listen to the history of the piece. It kept the kids busy for quite a while!
When we came into the museum we had a long chat with the kids about how we cannot touch anything and after seeing this sculpture Joe said he had a hard time not touching it. It was one of his favorite (chess is one of Joe's favorite games)

We also got to visit the zoo, which was alot of fun because they had trainer chats throughout the zoo and you got to listen to information about the animal and see them get feed.

Here is Ethan on the train he was most excited about it he could not stop talking about it! And he had to ride on a bench by himself.

I almost forgot, Batman was at the zoo when we went so Ethan got to meet him or should I say see him since he was really nervous. If you remember this post Ethan could hardly live without his batman costume. Joe was just about the only one to take a picture with Batman when I grabbed him at the last minute and was sure to keep him a good distance away so he felt ok with it.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! That is so funny that Ethan was nervous about batman! Way cute though!

That looks like so much fun. Wish I had known about that when we lived there. The spider thing is creeping me out though. LOL
