Olathe, Kansas 25 minutes south west of Kansas City
So here's the story. In about March of Joe's senior year he had interviewed with 2 companies: Rockwell Collins (Located in Cedar Rapids, IA) and Garmin (Located in Olathe, KS). Rockwell Collins offered Joe a job and after thinking about it decided to accept (after waiting he wasn't sure he would get the job from Garmin). Well a few weeks later Joe decided to contact Garmin to see what had happened because he didn't hear anything from Garmin and usually you would at least get a letter that says thanks but no thanks. After talking with them Joe found out they were interested in hiring and his name had slipped through the cracks when the guy in charge of new hires left the company, they told him they would get back to him. So Joe waited another a couple of weeks and still no word, finally they called the new person who was to contact him had gone on vacation and was now back to work. They offered him a position, but at this time we were about 2 weeks away from the start date at Rockwell Collins. Joe really wasn't feeling right about working at Rockwell Collins so we declined that job and accepted the job at Garmin and Joe has been really happy with that choice he really loves it and Olathe it is a really nice town.

Garmin sounds cool! We have a garmin navigator in our car and I have a small one I wear when I run. Is that the kind of garmin you are talking about? I'm sad it isn't California, but we'll have to manage! Maybe Kyle will have CE in Kansas City someday.
